DescriptionEvent: https://facebook.com/events/s/wayne-white-presentation-book-/378640331104616/ Wayne L. White is a US Marine Veteran. He spent two summers and three winters as the Winter Site Manager at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. This was nearly three years in total length. This adventure is the subject of his book COLD: Three Winters at the South Pole. The book describes the United States Antarctic Program, USAP, the South Pole winter crews, the type of things they faced, and his thoughts on leadership. At the South Pole during winter it’s dark and cold (can be lower than minus 100F/76C) and there is no way to get out from mid-February to about the beginning of November. Wayne has a major interest in historical exploration and lives in Rockport with his wife Melissa. Books will be on hand to purchase for $29.95 plus tax at this event.
